My neighborhood is a good place to raise a family because…

"My neighborhood is a close-knit, diverse community that cares about each other. There are tons of kids and progressive families. Everything we need is in walking distance; beautful green parks and playgrounds, museums, libraries, art classes, horseback riding trails, a zoo, pool, and planetarium. One of the reasons I chose this neighborhood was because of the bilingual school, which has an excellent reputation. Students are taught in English and Spanish and eventually become fluent." - Lauren

Dogs or cats?

"I love both, but I have always had cats. Because they are loving, sweet, independent and I dont feel guilty like leaving a dog. But I do regularly dog sit the best and cutest Golden Doodle!" - Linsey

My philosophy on parenting is...

"A child is a growing human being and not an extension of myself. They deserve the respect and acceptance to be exactly who they are. The goal is a happy child. " - Rachel

"Both. Plus goats, sheep, chickens, geese, ducks, and horses! Give me all the animals! :)" - Autumn Moody

If I could change one thing about the World, it would be...

"I'm really empathetic and having a big heart (though I wouldn't trade it for anything) means feeling big feelings when you hear awful headlines. I would say the thing I would change is ending violence everywhere, and wishing safety and love for everyone." - Emily

My neighborhood is a good place to raise a family because…

"there is a playground in every block, some of the best schools in the state of Maryland, a tight-knit parenting culture, aftful afternoons, summer circus camps (if you're into that sort of thing) and a community center with so many classes for kids. I chose to live here because it's so safe, diverse, family-friendly, highly walkable, and right next to a forest preserve." - Ronda

My philosophy on parenting is...

"to createa a loving, supportive, safe home where my child feels free to be themselves and can thrive. Teaching Kindergarten, I have learned a lot about what children need to feel secure in life. They need to feel loved, connected and accepted above all else. They need to have safe guidelines and boundaries to help navigate life. My child will know how loved and wanted they are and I will strive to create a space where my child can come to me with anything and I will always be there for them to love and cheer them on. "I am not competitive. Although, if I was competitive, I'd probably like to compete in a baking contest. " - Lani
