I have so much respect for you. Considering placing your baby for adoption is an overwhelming act of love and courage. I will not pretend to understand how difficult this is for you and I want you to feel confident about your choice. If you decide to take the adoption path and feel I am the right fit to parent your baby, I will do everything in my power to give that child a wonderful life with unconditional love and acceptance, and a childhood filled with incredible experiences. I have wanted to be a mother my whole life and, for some reason, I always knew I wanted to adopt. As I get older, I care less about what other people think and the traditional order of life. I'm ready to take on the role as a single woman. I have a strong support system to help me as I raise a happy child in a loving and accepting environment. Family is so much more than genetics; adoption is a wonderful way to create a family built on love. I don't know what the future holds, but I will always honor you in our home and cherish the gift you've given me. I'm a kind and strong woman who has a lot of love to share. I get fired up fighting for what I believe in but I'm also good at seeing other perspectives and am open to new ideas. I believe it is important to be involved in the community and to stand up for your values. I will teach my child to use their voice to advocate for themself and others. I love spending time with friends and family...often doing something involving food or discovering new places in the city. You will often find me baking, staying active, reading and doing anything creative. Volunteering has been a part of my life in some way since I was a little kid, and I've been working with a girls empowerment group. It is wonderful to create a safe space for junior high girls to grow. Travel has brought so much joy to my life and I plan to keep exploring the world. Ask me about my adventures!

On my first trip to Zambia I visited an animal refuge and got to cuddle with some cheetahs. Such an amazing experience!
I am close with my family. My parents live nearby and I see them often. We always have fun when we get together.
My best friend of over 20 years. We are more like family than friends and I love watching her two kids grow up.
My favorite place in the World is...
It is difficult to choose just one place. I love to travel and have been all over the world. Some of my favorite destinations are Iceland, Zambia, Norway and Slovenia. Places closer to home also provide a wonderful feeling of belonging and comfort. My childhood home makes me feel especially safe and loved.

My neighborhood is a good place to raise a family because…
There are a lot of children who live nearby. My parents live a couple miles away and are excited to be involved in their first grandchild's life. The neighborhood has a lot of parks. It is also conveniently located to all of the culture of Houston including museums and festivals which I love take advantage of.

If I could change one thing about the World, it would be...
for everyone to be just a little more empathetic and understanding. a little bit of consideration can go a long way.

My philosophy on parenting is...
A child is a growing human being and not an extension of myself. They deserve the respect and acceptance to be exactly who they are. The goal is a happy child.

Making an awesome sandcastle with my goddaughter.
Zambia was so wonderful I had to go again! On my second trip I stayed for 6 weeks and developed a girls empowerment group based on an organization I volunteer with at home. This is us enjoying our end of session party.
Trip to lake Bled in Slovenia. It was gorgeous!
Three years from now, I hope our child’s birth mom is…
Happy and confident in her life. I hope she feels strong in pursuing her dreams, whatever those might be.

We are the best choice because…
I am excited and ready to provide a wonderful childhood for a baby. One that is filled with love, acceptance and support.

Do you consider yourself religious or spiritual?
I was raised Catholic with a Jewish father so I got the best of both worlds. These days I am not very religious but I appreciate the benefits that can come from religion.

My best friend would describe me as...
caring, dependable and fun.

If I could have dinner with anyone—dead or alive—I would pick...
My Aunt Sue. She passed away almost ten years ago but she was an important figure in my life. From her I learned to not take things too seriously and always help others. I would love to have another meal with her.

If I could choose one type of food to eat for the rest of my life, it would be:
Either tacos or ice cream.
-Rachel
Dogs or cats?
Both! I love all sorts of animals. I've had cats my whole life but I like dogs as well. Having a pet is especially important as a child and I plan on making sure my kid grows up with that special connection that can only come from a pet.

I love being Aunt Rachel to my friend's two kids!
I love exploring the parks of Houston. This is my friend and me hiking in one of my favorite parks.
I'm half culturally Jewish and the best part is celebrating holidays with the delicious food and warm company. Our Jewish celebrations are all inclusive - anyone and everyone is welcome.
I hope our child’s birth mother is…
aware of how strong and brave she is. I cannot express the awe I have for her making the decision to place her baby for adoption. It is a gift that can benefit the lives of herself, the baby and me.
