Hi there! We’re Bob and Sam. Thank you for taking the time to learn more about us. We’re so excited to grow our family through adoption and by the prospect of welcoming a child into our hearts and home. Our story began in 2014 in a classic, albeit somewhat cliché, setting: a bar. We struck up a conversation and immediately felt a sense of ease and familiarity with one another. We made plans to meet up on a dinner date and things just clicked. We connected over shared values and were amazed to discover just how well our differences in personalities felt balanced and complementary. It didn’t take long for us to realize that we had found something special! Our relationship continued to flourish over the next eight years of dating, evolving along with us as we grew both as individuals and together as partners. No matter the obstacle or milestone, we faced each challenge and celebrated every win as a family. When we got married in 2022, we said our vows confident in knowing we had nurtured a relationship that was built to last. Without hesitation, each of us will say that we got married to our favorite person, biggest advocate, and forever best friend. Through this profile, we hope to give you a glimpse into who we are, the life we've built together, and the unconditional love that we will provide a child. We look forward to the joy and challenges of parenthood and cannot wait to create a supportive, stable, and nurturing home for our family.

My neighborhood is a good place to raise a family because…
There are a number of parks and playgrounds within a few minutes of our house that host events for kids of all ages. There’s a youth athletic league with sports fields nearby, and we even have a sprayground! Lots of the cafes and restaurants are well suited for families too!

If you had to live on an RV or sailboat for the rest of your life, which would it be?
RV! Though I love the beach and ocean, I can't say I find the idea of living on the water all that appealing! I also really enjoy camping and hiking, and there are so many beautiful mountains and forests in the continental US that I'd love to explore via a cross-country trip!
-Sam
Three years from now, I hope our child’s birth mom is…
happy, thriving, and feeling confident and at peace with her decision.

My best friend would describe me as...
genuine, easy-going, and compassionate.

Our niece and nephew love story time with Uncle Bob
Favorite season and why?
Summer! Though I love the crisp weather and beautiful colors of the fall, being married to a teacher makes summer especially special. I love that Bob is around more and that we are able to spend a lot of quality time at the shore with both of our families.
-Sam
What’s the first thing that comes to mind when you look at the night sky?
Wonder. I’m so fascinated by space and how vast it is. I have an app that tells me where the planets and constellations are in the night sky. I always find them when stargazing, which is one of my favorite things to do.
-Bob
I'm super competitive when it comes to...
game nights with my siblings and their partners. Overall, I'd say that I don't have much of a competitive side. But I love whenever my siblings and I get together for family game nights. Whether we're playing a board game, ping-pong, pool, or charades, we can't help but get really into it!
-Sam
What’s the first thing that comes to mind when you look at the night sky?
Peacefulness. There is a sense of calm that comes with looking at something so vast and beautiful. I love how it reminds me to hit pause and take a moment to appreciate and take in my surroundings.
-Sam
If you had to pick a famous person to play you in a movie, who would it be?
I'd have to go with Emma Stone. I think she's so talented and admire the versatility that she brings to her roles -- she can be funny, serious, and everything in between.
-Sam
My philosophy on parenting is...
to provide unconditional love and support while fostering independence and curiosity. I believe in teaching through example, approaching discipline with empathy and patience, and prioritizing open communication. My hope is to create a home environment that nurtures confidence, stewardship, and authenticity, allowing children to grow into individuals who are true to themselves and deeply compassionate toward others.
-Sam
Favorite season and why?
I know as a teacher I’m supposed to say summer, but I like spring the best. I love when the days are getting longer and the nights start getting warmer. Sweatshirt weather is my favorite. Plus spring makes me anticipate the end of the school year, graduation, and the start of summer break!

Dogs or cats?
Dogs! Bob and I have two rescue pups, Murphy and Ralph, who bring so much joy to our lives. Their love is so pure, and there's something deeply humbling about being the recipient of such boundless loyalty and affection. What I love most is how intuitive they can be. Always ready to offer comfort and snuggles when we need it most, our dogs never fail to brighten even the toughest of days.
-Sam
My favorite place in the World is...
Philadelphia. Whenever I’m coming back from being out of town and first see the city skyline, I feel an immediate sense of being home. If I had to pick somewhere I don’t live, I’d say Galway, Ireland, specifically around Christmas. Everyone is so cheerful and welcoming - Sam and I talk about going back all the time!
-Bob
If I could have dinner with anyone—dead or alive—I would pick...
alive - I think it would be strange to have dinner with a dead person… All jokes aside - Ben Franklin - I'm a history teacher and would be fascinated to hear the stories he would tell!
-Bob
My favorite place in the World is...
home. I love the home that Bob and I have built together and the neighborhood that we live in. There is nothing more comforting than coming home and spending time cuddling with our two dogs on the couch.

Apart from my family (pets included!), I'd say music. For me, music is my go-to for whenever I need a spark of motivation or shift in mood. It is also something that Bob and I enjoy together. Though we don't always have the same taste in music, we love showing each other new bands and singing along to songs as we power through some housework or while we cook together.
