Thank you for considering me as an adoptive parent. There are a couple of things that I want you to know. First, I appreciate you and the massive decision you are currently working through. I wish you the best of luck with whatever decision you ultimately make. Second, I am so ready to be a mom. I can't wait to nurture a child, teach them about the world, and help them grow into a kind, curious, and happy adult. Third, you will always be an important person in this child's life. I look forward to working with you to ensure he/she has a strong base of love and support. In terms of who I am, in a nutshell, I am a single, financially independent woman. My family, friends, and community are incredibly important to me. I value education (both classroom and life experience), travel, new experiences, and tradition. I have long known adoption was going to be part of my journey as some of my favorite people were themselves adopted. I would love to answer any questions you might have. Hope to hear from you soon!

Hanging with my nephew. He is becoming such a little charmer.
Enjoying morning nap time snuggles with my nephew.
Quick trip with one of my favorite family members in New Orleans for a food and jazz filled weekend (August 2024). Can you tell that it was humid out?
Complete the sentence, “I can’t live without……”
Pets; probably my phone too. I was raised with cats and dogs and currently have two cats and a dog. There is nothing better than the unconditional love of a dog and earning the right to cuddle a cat.

We are the best choice because…
I'm sure there are a lot of great potential adoptive parents out there and I repect that you are making extremely difficult choices during this time in your life. If I’m the right fit, I promise to give the baby everything I have to offer - love, acceptance, humor, and joy in new experiences. I will nurture their dreams and give them every opportunity I can to help them realize their goals.

What scares you?
Failure… and sharks.

Do you consider yourself religious or spiritual?
I consider myself to be spiritual but not religious. I believe in something bigger than us but think the best way to honor that connection is by helping others.

July 4, 2024
high school graduation day for my little cousin. love that my family comes together to celebrate milestones.
If you had to live on an RV or sailboat for the rest of your life, which would it be?
I think I could probably manage in an RV but not a sailboat. I like the idea of traveling around and exploring new communities and, while I love being on the water, I'd be concerned about isolation and seasickness while living on a boat.

What’s the first thing that comes to mind when you look at the night sky?
My first thought is always about the beauty of the stars and moon closely followed with awe over how small we are in comparison to the universe.

Dogs or cats?
Both!

Do I have kids? How do they feel about a sibling?
I don’t have kids yet.

Favorite season and why?
Fall is my favorite season because I love to hike as the leaves change color. I also tend to start cooking/baking as soon as the weather turns cool, which culminates in Thanksgiving, my favorite holiday. I love to host family and friends for Thanksgiving. I take the lead on cooking/baking, but everyone pitches in, and we hang out, talk, laugh, listen to Alice’s Restaurant, and eat way too much

If I could choose one type of food to eat for the rest of my life, it would be:
Tacos; they can be customized for any meal of the day.

My neighborhood is a good place to raise a family because…
I live in a wonderful community. There are tons of families with kids and options to learn (preschools and elementary schools), play (playgrounds, community centers, and pools), and eat nearby. DC is close for rainy day museum trips and there are mountains to hike within driving distance.

this was an important birthday for my dog; he was diagnosed with a nasal tumor just after his 11th birthday. Treatment was really tough on him but he made it through! plus, any excuse for cake…
My favorite place in the World is...
Lake Harriet, MN. It is nothing fancy, but it is a lake near where I grew up that we always walked around. I try to make my way there anytime I make it back to MN. For some reason, it feels like home.

Three years from now, I hope our child’s birth mom is…
Happy. I hope she is confident that the decision to choose adoption was the best one for her specific circumstances, she welcomes the relationship that she has developed with the child and with with me, and she remains excited about all of the opportunities for her future.
