Thank you for taking the time to get to know us. We don’t believe that our relationship has to end here. However open you would like the adoption to be if you choose us for this child, we will always share with them our deepest gratitude to you for making our family possible. We will always put your child at the center of this process. In growing our family—we will open our hearts and give all that we have to ensure that your child has everything that they need to live a happy and fulfilling life. We will ensure that they have good educational opportunities and the tools that they need to follow their dreams and passions. We will let them know every day—through our words and our actions—that they are loved. We know that your decision is not easy or simple. We only hope that you have everything that you need to make the decision that is best for you and your child. And if you choose to move forward with us, we can’t wait to meet you!

Biking around Washington, DC - our neighborhood has bike trails that go into the city!
Christmas 2022
Awaiting our greatest adventure yet.
My neighborhood is a good place to raise a family because…
we are around the corner from the elementary school, only a mile from the Metro into the city, and so close to parks and a great playground!
-Chris
I hope our child’s birth mother is…
supported in her decision to choose adoption and has what she needs to fee atpeace and confident in her decision.
-Brittany
My favorite place in the World is...
the Outer Banks, North Carolina.
-Chris
My neighborhood is a good place to raise a family because…
it will be fun and safe to grow our family here. It reminds Chris of where he grew up, which makes us feel at home. We live a block away from the elementary school and are close to a few parks—the closest is less than half a mile from us and has playground areas for each age group. The safe neighborhood offers children a level of independence. Kids often walk to school. Children regularly bike, scooter, and rollerblade during their recreational time, either in groups or individually. We are a mile from a Metro stop, making everything that Washington D.C. has to offer easy to get to. From the Smithsonian museums to annual events like the book fair and car show, we enjoy taking advantage of our proximity to the city. We can’t wait to share this with a little one!

Traveling over Christmas 2022
Complete the sentence, “I can’t live without……”
My friends and family. From near and far, our community is so improtant to us. We travel to New Englnd every year to visit and we love hosting family holidays in our home. We also love planning trips with our loved ones to see new things and enjoy new experiences together.
-Brittany
My best friend would describe me as...
Dependable and fun - always open to trying something new together, or just hanging out at one of our houses and catching up. until I was 20, I didn’t have any siblings so my friends have always been an extended part of my family. Family has never been about genetics, but about community and I feel so blessed to have the extended community that I do in the DC area where we live and in New England where we’re from.
-Brittany
What’s the first thing that comes to mind when you look at the night sky?
I feel the vastness of space. When I look up, I start reflecting on all of life’s biggest questions. With the city lights nearby my home, I sometimes feel pulled to the country where I can see the night sky more clearly.
-Chris
My best friend would describe me as...
Reliable - we dont see eachother all the time but he knows U am here if he needs me.
-Chris
I would never...
participate in a hotdog eating contest.
-Chris
Dogs or cats?
Dogs!
-Chris
Favorite season and why?
Autumn because the temperatures are cooler, but you can still have fun outdoors - and without springs pollen.

If I could change one thing about the World, it would be...
I dream of a time when everyone can get along despite their differences. And even in times of disagreement there be respect and compromise.

If I could choose one type of food to eat for the rest of my life, it would be:
egg sandwiches or tacos - variety, but classic!

My favorite website is (...not your Facebook page :)):
Goodreads - I love reading and sharing what I read with my friends (and seeing what they're reading so I can add new books to my "want to read list." It has also been a great way to keep track of the books I am reading about adoption.
-Brittany
My favorite place in the World is...
my backyard on a spring day.

I hope our child’s birth mother is…
someone who has the support and information that she needs to make a decision about her child and future that is right for her.
-Chris
In five years our relationship with our child’s birth mother will…
hopefully be like an extended member of our family! Ultimately, we want a relationship that is best for the birth mother and puts our child's best interest at the center. We are open to thet meaning regular backyard bbqs and involvement in milestones like graduating from kindergarten.
-Chris
What is the best word to describe our family?
home is the family we’ve created.
-Chris
I would never...
sky dive - even though I’m not afraid of heights, I could never bring myself to voluntarily jump out of a plane.

If you had to live on an RV or sailboat for the rest of your life, which would it be?
The romantic in me wants to say sailboat, but the practical side of me thinks an RV.
-Chris
In five years our relationship with our child’s birth mother will…
represent all of the best things we can collectively provide for our child. We welcome our future child’s birth mother with open arms and want her to feel like she can have her child in her life if she chooses to. We know birth families are so important to an adoptive child and don’t want to lose that connection. If our birth mom chooses to not remain in her child life, we will do what we can to document milestones and save those memories for a time she may want to see how her child grew into the 5 year old they are now.

If you had to live on an RV or sailboat for the rest of your life, which would it be?
Neither? I sometimes get dizzy after a boat ride, so I don’t think I could live on a sailboat. And while I love traveling, I like having a home base where my community is so I don’t think I’m cut out for RV life.
-Brittany
If I could have dinner with anyone—dead or alive—I would pick...
My dad - he passed away when I was 24 and it would be really nice to get a steak dinner together and catch up about all that's happened since her left us.
-Brittany
If you had to pick a famous person to play you in a movie, who would it be?
Hilary Duff or Reese Witherspoon
-Brittany
Dogs or cats?
Both/ neither - this really comes down to the individual pets personality and training. We dont have a dog or cat but I think under the right circumstances I could be persuaded to get either - esspecially if our future child really wants one. I do think a cat would be generally easier as a pet.

What’s the first thing that comes to mind when you look at the night sky?
how big our world is and how everyone is looking at the same sky and living totally different experiences.
-Brittany
I'm super competitive when it comes to...
I am not a very competitive person but I do keep track of how many books I read each year and try to close my workout rings on my apple watch everyday. Though I admit these things are more about my own goals than competition with others.
-Brittany
Three years from now, I hope our child’s birth mom is…
I hope I can have a long term and open relationship with our future child's birth mother. I know this may not always be easy - and at times she may want to step back from regular contact but it is very important to me that our child know who their birth mother is and knows their story and the people who are a part of it. I say this in our video, but we have never thought of family as being biological and we both hope our chil'd's birth family feels welcomes and part of our family circle, whether it be closer or extended. I have confidence we will figure it out as we go but also am committed to having a robust open adoption plan that we both agree to,

Favorite season and why?
Summer! For some reason the feeling of getting out of school for the summer never left me. I may still need to work all summer but it still feels like an extended time for fun and adventure. Its also one of the times we get to spend extended quality time with our friends and family each year.
-Brittany
