Thank you for looking at my profile. I am eager to become a mother and feel I have a lot to offer a child. I am an elementary teacher so I work with young children every day! I currently help care for my two infant great nieces on a regular basis so their moms can get some things done like sleep and work! I have a wonderful relationship with my great nephew who is now a teenager. I have a father, two brothers, two sisters in law, 2 nieces, 1 great nephew and 2 great nieces. I realize this makes me sound older than I am. my nieces were raised with me practically as sisters so they’re not much younger than me! my extended family includes aunts, uncles and cousins. Sadly, my mother and oldest brother have passed away in recent years. My mom was so excited about my adoption plans and I hope to make her proud. My best girl is my Cavachon dog, Zoe. We do everything together from walks to car rides to watching TV. She is an absolute delight! I won’t bore you with every detail of my life but in general I like to cook, garden, walk, play sports, watch baseball, attend music events, play the piano and sing! Next to teaching, music is like a second career for me. I participate in community events whenever time permits. My family and friends would describe me as nerdy smart (their words because I like to do puzzles, read and I know obscure facts), witty, and loyal. I usually make people laugh in awkward situations so that’s my claim to fame! I am at the stage in my life where I can give all of myself to raising a child. I will provide love, support, guidance, education and fun! I am open for emails, texts, phone calls and visits from a birth family. We can talk about levels of openness at any time. Again, thank you for reading this. I hope you consider me as you are making this difficult decision.

What’s the first thing that comes to mind when you look at the night sky?

How much I love the quiet of nighttime.

-Amy

If I could have dinner with anyone—dead or alive—I would pick...

Betty White. I think she was the coolest lady. I grew up watching her on TV but really came to be impressed by the kind, generous woman that she was.

-Amy

We are the best choice because…

I will love a child unconditionally and will provide the best possible home life. I am responsible, hard working and kind. I absolutely love children and have wanted to be a mother since I was a child. I work with young people every day and have had lots of practice during my career!

-Amy

I hope our child’s birth mother is…

At peace with her adoption plan.

-Amy

Three years from now, I hope our child’s birth mom is…

Grateful she chose my family!

If you had to live on an RV or sailboat for the rest of your life, which would it be?

RV. I could travel the country on land and stop to visit bodies of water without having to live on the water. I think I would get seasick in a sailboat!

-Amy

Do I have kids? How do they feel about a sibling?

I do not have kids unless you count my dog. She assures me she is ready for a sibling. Being an only child gets boring for her!

-Amy

If you had to pick a famous person to play you in a movie, who would it be?

Anna Kendrick. She resembles me and she’s a talented actor and singer. What more could I ask for!

-Amy

If I could have dinner with anyone—dead or alive—I would pick...

Betty White. She was a tremendously funny lady and seemed to be down to earth and kind.

-Amy

My best friend would describe me as...

I asked her this just to be sure. She said I am loyal!

-Amy

What scares you?

Losing family or friends to illness or unforeseen events.

-Amy

My family

My family

Complete the sentence, “I can’t live without……”

My dog because she brings me tremendous love and joy! I call her my best girl all the time. If you're not a dog person it's hard to understand the bond you can have with a pet. She is the best!

-Amy

What is the best word to describe our family?

My family is real. We are hard working, honest, generous people. We don’t pretend to be something we are not. We try to live our best life every day.

-Amy

If I could change one thing about the World, it would be...

No more cancer!

-Amy

When we argue, what’s it about?

When I argue with others it’s usually because we aren’t listening and misunderstand each other.

-Amy

My favorite website is (...not your Facebook page :)):

I don’t really have a favorite. I visit lots of websites regarding school ideas, recipes, baseball, music. Some of my favorite are Pinterest, Washington Nationals, Sheetmusic.com.

-Amy

My favorite place in the World is...

On the beach in Florida. I LOVE walking along the sand and listening to the waves.

-Amy

-Amy

If I could choose one type of food to eat for the rest of my life, it would be:

Pasta. There are so many recipes that hopefully I would never get tired of it!

-Amy

I would never...

Skydive. I do not like heights and would probably faint before I even jumped!

-Amy

Favorite season and why?

Summer. I love the warm weather and the chance to do things outdoors like gardening, walking, being near the water, playing sports. Also, I do not have to work in the summer!

-Amy

In five years our relationship with our child’s birth mother will…

Be an open, positive relationship.

-Amy

Do you consider yourself religious or spiritual?

Religious. I attend church regularly, pray faithfully, and give thanks to God daily. Church has been part of my life since I was a baby. I sing in the choir, play the organ and piano, help with various activities.

-Amy

My neighborhood is a good place to raise a family because…

It is a small town surrounded by a larger town and within an hour of several large cities. I feel it has the best opportunities because it’s quiet yet near lots of venues for activities, shows and events. It has great diversity and an openness for all types of families.

-Amy

The most special thing I own is...

Living would be my dog….obviously I adore her! Nonliving would be a necklace my mom gave to me before she passed away.

-Amy

My philosophy on parenting is...

Be firm and loving. I think a child needs structure but also needs to be constantly reminded how much he/she is loved.

-Amy

Three years from now, I hope our child’s birth mom is…

Completely at peace with the decision to choose me as an adoptive mother.

-Amy

In five years our relationship with our child’s birth mother will…

Be open and honest.

-Amy

I would never...

Skydive. I don’t like heights that much and that just seems like an unnecessary risk to take!

-Amy

Do I have kids? How do they feel about a sibling?

I do not have kids.

-Amy

My philosophy on parenting is...

Children need love and structure. They thrive when they know someone will love them unconditionally but will also set boundaries for safety and well being.

-Amy

Dogs or cats?

Dogs. They act like little humans. I talk to my dog like she is my daughter so she probably thinks I'm strange! We enjoy doing everything together. She has also done very well with my baby nieces who like to play with her.

-Amy

If you had to pick a famous person to play you in a movie, who would it be?

Anna Kendrick. She resembles me a little and she's a talented singer and actress.

-Amy

Favorite season and why?

Summer. I love the warm weather and the chance to do things outside. Also, I'm off work in the summer!

-Amy

I'm super competitive when it comes to...

Pickleball. It’s my new favorite sport to play. When my partner misses the ball I tend to yell “Bring in the subs” in hopes of getting a better partner!!

-Amy

If I could choose one type of food to eat for the rest of my life, it would be:

Pasta. There are so many different recipes for pasta. I made a new one every day and be endlessly happy!

-Amy

I'm super competitive when it comes to...

Board games. I take them very seriously and have a hard time losing!

-Amy

What’s the first thing that comes to mind when you look at the night sky?

I love the peace and quiet of nighttime when the world seems to slow down a bit.
