The most special thing I own is...
An antique telephone table that belonged to my grandparents. My grandfather found it in the trash in 1940 and I recently updated it with funky fabric & paint. It's now in my living room.
In five years, our relationship with you will...
My hope is that we will have built a trusting, warm, and strong relationship based on what is best for both you as the birth parent and also the little one.
Do you have kids? How would they feel about a sibling?
I don't currently have kids, but I do hope to adopt more than once. My brother and I are close and I would love to see my child experience the same type of relationship as they grow up.
What’s the first thing that comes to mind when you look at the night sky?
The night sky inspires me to live each day to the fullest. It reminds me that anything is possible and that the next day is a new fresh beginning and an opportunity for something great!
If I could change one thing about the World, it would be...
the end of hunger for all children.
My philosophy on parenting is...
to listen, trust, and provide guidance. I believe that children need discipline to walk the right path, but they also need some wiggle room to have fun, grow and figure out who they are.
If you had to live on an RV or sailboat for the rest of your life, which would it be?
RV. Traveling the land gives you the opportunity to meet interesting people and experience where they live. I may also need a boat to visit other continents :).
If I could have dinner with anyone -- dead or alive -- I would pick...
My grandmother. She passed before I was born and I have always felt really close to her even though we never met. I believe that she is watching over me.
I would never...
eat mayo. It's gross, haha.
Dogs or cats?
Dogs! Sadie is my sweet 3yr old rescue dog who came to me from the Caribbean after an accident where she broke her hip. She is now recovered, happy, and loves children, cuddling, and carrots.
My neighborhood is a good place to raise a family because…
there are many young families, wonderful schools, beautiful parks, and it is close to my large extended family. There are also other adoptive families nearby which I love.
Three years from now, I hope our birth mom is…..
thriving & happy. I hope she is comforted knowing that her child is loved, encouraged, supported, and cared for in the best ways possible.
What is the best word to describe your family?
Warm, funny, adventurous, loving, and always surrounded by food! I have a large extended family and they are excited to welcome a new member to the family. Lot's of hugs in this crew!
Favorite season and why?
Fall brings cozy sweaters, hot soups, and the beginning of the holiday season. That means lots of happy celebrations and meals with the people I love.
Complete the sentence, “I can’t live without……”
Tea! I grew up drinking tea w/ my grams and think of her everyday when I pour my first cup. I have a large tea collection from all of my world travels. I probably couldn't live without travel either!
My favorite place in the World is...
A small beach in Montauk, NY where I visit every summer with my family. My grandparents brought my dad, my parents brought me and I can't wait to continue the tradition.
We are the best choice because…
I have an abundance of love, knowledge & empathy that I can't wait to share with a child! Having my own business allows me to support a family while still being home so I never miss a thing!
