Us in the Baby's room

Our cat, Diana, making an entrance from behind the curtains!
Favorite season and why?
Fall. As an academic advisor in a college, Summer is my busiest time of the year, as we’re preparing for the new year. Fall is a chance to take things easy and enjoy the fruits of our labor, plus, it’s not too hot and not too cold, so Tara and I go on long walks, and the leaves are so pretty!
-George
I'm super competitive when it comes to...
my writing. I really want to become a famous author someday!
-Tara
If I could have dinner with anyone—dead or alive—I would pick...
my Uncle Joe. I miss him.
-George
If you had to pick a famous person to play you in a movie, who would it be?
This is silly. I honestly have no idea. Maybe Emma Watson? Lol.
-Tara

We love to visit interesting places! This was taken on a trip riding on an old steam railway.

With our family.
Do you consider yourself religious or spiritual?
a bit of both. I was raised Episcopalian, and I love the quote from the Bishop Spong, the bishop who confirmed me, about how as Christians we walk through out tradition but that God is not exclusive to Christianity, because it speaks to how the divine cannot be limited by our human definitions.
-George
What’s the first thing that comes to mind when you look at the night sky?
Space... The Final Frontier.... These are the voyages of the Starship Enterprise...
-George
If I could have dinner with anyone—dead or alive—I would pick...
My father’s father and my mother’s mother. They both died before I was born and I would love to be able to spend time talking to them in person.
-Tara
My neighborhood is a good place to raise a family because…
It’s diverse, has good schools and parks, and in general is a safe, friendly place to live. Our neighbors in our complex are always looking out for each other too, which is very nice.
-Tara
Complete the sentence, “I can’t live without……”
Books! I’m a writer. What else would I say? Lol. But seriously, stories in general (whether in books, plays, movies, TV shows, etc.) mean a lot to me because of how they make me feel. I’m an introspective person and I enjoy thinking deeply about myself, others, and how we experience life.
-Tara
My philosophy on parenting is...
to be as supportive as possible. I want our child to know that we will always be there for them. I want them to grow up to be successful and happy and that means being true to themselves.
-Tara
Dogs or cats?
I love dogs and cats, but I’m more of a cat person. So is my husband, George. We have a beautiful, sweet, loving cat named Diana. She’s our little furbaby!
-Tara
Three years from now, I hope our child’s birth mom is…
happy and enjoying life.
-Tara
Do I have kids? How do they feel about a sibling?
This baby would be our one and only child. We really just want one.
-Tara
What’s the first thing that comes to mind when you look at the night sky?
The beauty of the stars.
-Tara
If I could change one thing about the World, it would be...
the world would be kinder to the people it casts off.
-George
Dogs or cats?
Cats! We have an adorable tuxedo cat named Diana, and she's the sweetest little cuddle buddy ever!
-George
What scares you?
Horror movie style ghosts (which is why I don’t watch horror movies), spiders, bugs in general, illness and/or dying. This is a morbid question. Lol.
-Tara
Favorite season and why?
I love the fall! It's beautiful, cozy, and the perfect time to get back into baking. It's also the start of the Holiday Season, which for our family means Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas.
-Tara
My favorite Instagram account is:
I don’t use Instagram
-George
We are the best choice because…
We are a loving family looking to share that love with our child to help raise him or her to become the best person that they can be. We just want them to grow up to be happy, whatever that means to them is their choice. We’re there to love and support them on their life journey.
-Tara
The most special thing I own is...
My memories. Physical stuff may come and go, but love and soul memories are forever.
-Tara
In five years our relationship with our child’s birth mother will…
be a relationship that makes us all comfortable. I would like us to be friendly with one another and for us to stay in touch so when the child asks about their biological family someday, she will be willing to talk to them and help answer their questions.
-Tara
Do I have kids? How do they feel about a sibling?
no, we’re hoping to adopt our one and only, and give them all the love and attention we can.
-George
Do you consider yourself religious or spiritual?
Spiritual. I believe in reincarnation, soul mates, soul connections, ancestral spirits, spirit guides, that every living being has a soul, and that we all have our own personal connection to the Divine.
-Tara
I hope our child’s birth mother is…
a good person.
-Tara
I would never...
hit a child or an animal. Or anyone really unless they tried to hurt me or my family.
-Tara
If you had to live on an RV or sailboat for the rest of your life, which would it be?
Neither. I’m not into camping and living on the sea would make me dizzy. A house by a lake or river would be nice though.
-Tara
My favorite website is (...not your Facebook page :)):
probably the one I frequent the most is eBay. You can find some neat collectibles, get some good deals, and I sell Star Trek trading cards as a nice side hustle
-George
The most special thing I own is...
the photos from our first Star Trek convention where we met Leonard Nimoy (Spock), and Tara is grinning from ear to ear. She’d tried to play it cool, but she totally geeked out, and it made me realize, looking at that photo, that she gets me.
-George
If I could choose one type of food to eat for the rest of my life, it would be:
pizza!
-George
My best friend would describe me as...
loyal and supportive, with a good sense of humor.
-Tara
My favorite place in the World is...
Home. I love being home with my husband and our family.
-Tara
When we argue, what’s it about?
We don’t argue much. When we do argue, we keep it respectful and look to find a compromise or talk about ways that we can resolve the issue together. We plan on teaching our future child these skills too. We were both children of divorce and we work very hard to make sure that we are happy together and that means communicating well with one another on a daily basis.
-Tara
What is the best word to describe our family?
Loving
-Tara
My favorite website is (...not your Facebook page :)):
Honestly, I don’t have just one. I love reading comics like Garfield, Intelligent Life (or really anything) by David Reddick, FoxTrot, Calvin and Hobbes, and Charlie Brown. I also love baking, so I go on Pinterest to find recipes.
-Tara
My favorite YouTube video is: (paste the full link)
I don’t have a favorite YouTube video, but here is the link to one of my favorite YouTube channels (EmmyMade is bubbly, upbeat, and experiments with different types of recipes): https://youtube.com/c/emmymade

If I could change one thing about the World, it would be...
people who are too greedy and hateful.
-Tara
If I could choose one type of food to eat for the rest of my life, it would be:
Is this question based on dietary needs or fun? I’ll go with fun because this combo would be totally unrealistic: sushi, salad, broccoli, potatoes (in any form), cheese, and chocolate. Those are some of my favorite foods! Yeah, I know…I can’t pick just one. The other foods might get insulted and feel left out.
