Sweet Homecoming!

Sweet Homecoming!

Michael's birthday

Michael's birthday

I would never...

Say never. Only a sith deals in absolutes.

-Michael

I'm super competitive when it comes to...

I don't play games to lose! My family instilled that in me from a young age. I like to try and win at any game I play or learn from mistakes when I don't.

-Michael

Favorite season and why?

Spring because softball/baseball starts up, the days are getting longer, and the smell of fresh cut grass and BBQs. Fall the autumn leafs changing colors, cooler weather, and football with Dad.

-Miranda

Complete the sentence, “I can’t live without……”

Pizza and Candy!

-Michael

ATV riding in Maui, what a blast.

Do I have kids? How do they feel about a sibling?

No kids yet but very excited for when I do have a child.

-Miranda

If you had to pick a famous person to play you in a movie, who would it be?

Andy Serkis. He can play anything!

-Michael

In five years our relationship with our child’s birth mother will…

Be open so our birth mother knows about their child and the child knows about their birth mother and family.

-Miranda

My philosophy on parenting is...

Communication is key - both up and down.

-Michael

If I could choose one type of food to eat for the rest of my life, it would be:

Cookies. Chocolate Chip if we are getting specific, but snickerdoodle is a close second!

-Michael

My favorite place in the World is...

Downtown Bellingham, WA watching the sunset while walking on the pier with coffee, my dogs, and my loved ones.

-Miranda

My favorite place in the World is...

Japan was incredible. I loved the culture of the Japanese people and loved hiking Mt. Fuji with my friends from the Navy.

Joey and Sandy all snuggled up together

Joey and Sandy all snuggled up together

Dogs or cats?

Dogs, hand down. I love terriers and rescues. I grew up with Boston terriers since I was little. Joey is my current Boston. Sandy is our rescue. Both love to be with the family and kids.

-Miranda

If you had to live on an RV or sailboat for the rest of your life, which would it be?

This one is easy. RV! I want to travel the United States after I retire, like my grandparents did, in an RV and visit the national parks and different cultures around the USA.

-Michael

Complete the sentence, “I can’t live without……”

My family, my dogs, the view of the mountains and the beach being close by, chocolate, coffee, and music.

-Miranda

My best friend would describe me as...

Loving, caring, an old soul, and passionate about what I care about and care for.

-Miranda

If I could choose one type of food to eat for the rest of my life, it would be:

Chocolate

-Miranda

When we argue, what’s it about?

How to correctly put the toilet paper on the holder. I don't care as long as there is TP when I need it. Michael thinks it needs to be over and I forget that at times.

-Miranda

What scares you?

Disappointing the ones that I love and cherish.

-Miranda

If I could have dinner with anyone—dead or alive—I would pick...

My grandmother. She passed away years ago and I would love to have one more night with her.

-Michael

We are the best choice because…

We believe family is who you decide to love, care for and care about. Family is not always decided by blood but the bond shared between them.

-Miranda

If I could change one thing about the World, it would be...

These days, I would get rid of COVID so we could enjoy going out and doing things together without that concern in the back of everyones mind.

-Michael

My best friend would describe me as...

Quiet, Protective, Honest, Fun, Dedicated, Nerdy.

-Michael

I'm super competitive when it comes to...

nothing really although I do get really excited and animated when I'm at a live sporting event and I will come home without my voice.

-Miranda

Do I have kids? How do they feel about a sibling?

No.

-Michael

Favorite season and why?

Summer. I can ride my bicycle around town, go running outdoors, hiking, etc. The days are longer and the available options of things to do is just so much greater.

-Michael

Do you consider yourself religious or spiritual?

Spiritual.

-Miranda

Dogs or cats?

Dogs. You can actually do things with dogs!

-Michael

Do you consider yourself religious or spiritual?

I'm agnostic. There could be something out there, but who knows? I live by the Golden Rule and believe in helping others is what leads to self enlightenment. Being a good person is what really matters

-Michael

What’s the first thing that comes to mind when you look at the night sky?

Are aliens real?

-Michael

What’s the first thing that comes to mind when you look at the night sky?

The moon, the stars, and then what's out there in the universe, and are my loved ones up there watching over me.

-Miranda

We are the best choice because…

I think my wife and I would provide a loving and caring home for a child and we both want nothing more than that.

-Michael

If I could change one thing about the World, it would be...

Getting rid of COVID/wearing masks. I miss seeing smiling faces, playing peekaboo with a little one while standing in line & people following the golden rule-treating others how you want to be treated

-Miranda

Three years from now, I hope our child’s birth mom is…

Safe and happy, and knows that their child is safe, thriving, and loved.

-Miranda

What is the best word to describe our family?

Goofy. We tend to be pretty quiet on the outside but we love to joke and goof around all the time as we get comfortable with people.

-Michael

My philosophy on parenting is...

adapting to the child and the best way they learn, having an open discussion and what expectations are, loving my child no matter.

-Miranda

What is the best word to describe our family?

Open. No secrets, that's the first thing Michael learned when he meet my family. It means we talk a lot, family is a high priority, and we do what we can to help out when someone's in need.

-Miranda

The most special thing I own is...

Grandpa's baseball glove. Mikey taught me how to play softball when I was little. Having his glove is like having a little piece of him around still.

-Miranda

If you had to live on an RV or sailboat for the rest of your life, which would it be?

RV, I would love to be a traveling nurse later in life and just bring my things with me. Plus then Mike could tag along and so could the dogs or kid(s) and it could be used for road trips.

-Miranda

If you had to pick a famous person to play you in a movie, who would it be?

Emma Watson.

-Miranda

My neighborhood is a good place to raise a family because…

Small, quiet, safe. It's the same house I grew up in. We bought the house from my grandparents. A huge park behind the house to play at, learn to ride a bike, how to throw a ball, or chase the dogs.

-Miranda

What scares you?

Public speaking. I am forced into it because of my role in the military, but I would never describe it as something I will be comfortable with.

-Michael

My neighborhood is a good place to raise a family because…

We live in a quiet cul-de-sac that has a huge park behind it, is quiet and close to schools.

-Michael
