l believe every birth parent has the right to make a choice that's right for them, their life, and their family. I hope you feel supported in your choice and have people around you who love you no matter what your choice ends up being. Thank you for considering adoption.

Lauren

I hope our child’s birth mother is…

Making this decision with love and because it's what you feel is best for your child, for any number of reasons. I don't want you to feel pressured or coerced.

-Lauren

I'm super competitive when it comes to...

I'm not very competitive actually. I prefer to challenge myself against my best, but not others' best.

-Lauren

What is the best word to describe our family?

Honest. I was raised to believe that honesty is one of the best ways to show love, respect, and compassion. Even if you're scared, even if the truth hurts, even if you'll have to face th consequences.

-Lauren

If you had to pick a famous person to play you in a movie, who would it be?

Drew Barrymore. We share a birthday and seem to have similar personalities.

-Lauren

Complete the sentence, “I can’t live without……”

Hmm...A/C. It may sound superficial, but I have a very low tolerance for heat. 65-70* is ideal

-Lauren

My philosophy on parenting is...

My job is to raise a loving, kind, empathetic, and authentic person, whoever they turn out to be otherwise. I will love whoever and whatever my child grows up to be.

-Lauren

My favorite Instagram account is:

Thoughts of Dog. It's so sweet and warms my heart.

-Lauren

Favorite season and why?

I grew up in southern Georgia, but have a terrible intolerance for heat, so I prefer colder weather: Late fall, winter, and early spring, please.

-Lauren

What’s the first thing that comes to mind when you look at the night sky?

I fondly remember going to a local park with my parents and watching the seasonal meteor showers. It's something so cool and calming. I hope to share it with my own child(ren) one day.

-Lauren

My favorite place in the World is...

My cousin used to have a private lake outside of Richmond, VA. She grew up there in a cabin her dad built and raised her family there. We held our annual reunions there, too. We were sad when it sold.

-Lauren

In five years our relationship with our child’s birth mother will…

Whatever is best for the child. Some children thrive on a continued relationship with their birth family, some struggle. I want to do what is best for the child I'm raising.

-Lauren

My neighborhood is a good place to raise a family because…

There is a playground and sidewalks everywhere. I see children and families out for walks often and I'm just a mile from a large city park with soft play area, walking trails, and a huge field.

-Lauren

Three years from now, I hope our child’s birth mom is…

Comfortable knowing her child is loved and content. Happy with her decision to place her child in my care. Thriving.

-Lauren

My favorite website is (...not your Facebook page :)):

Pinterest. I have used it to find costume ideas, recipes, and crafts. I like being creative, but sometimes I need a starting point.

-Lauren

I would never...

Spank. I used to think that "I was spanked and turned out just fine", but I've seen the research and I don't want to be someone my child is afraid of. I want us to work, learn, and grow together.

-Lauren

If you had to live on an RV or sailboat for the rest of your life, which would it be?

An RV. You can drive an RV to the water, but a boat can't navigate on land.

-Lauren

Do I have kids? How do they feel about a sibling?

I do not have any human children, but I have a rescued dachshund and often volunteer for local dachshund rescues. Cooper (the eleven-year-old dachshund) has no objections.

-Lauren

We are the best choice because…

My family is made of adoptees. Both of my parents and my younger brother are adopted, as well as multiple cousins. Your child will be surrounded by people who understand how they feel.

-Lauren

Dogs or cats?

I'm more familiar with dogs, but I'm not opposed to cats, just allergic.

-Lauren

What scares you?

Losing my family, I'm close with my parents. I hope I'll get to create a family of my own, it's very important to me.

-Lauren

If I could change one thing about the World, it would be...

Let people be who they are. So long as what they are doesn't harm others.

-Lauren

When we argue, what’s it about?

I believe everyone deserves access to food, affordable housing, healthcare, and clean water just because we're alive. No one asked to be here, we shouldn't be punished for our own births.

-Lauren

If I could have dinner with anyone—dead or alive—I would pick...

I'm not sure. I'm an awkward eater. I don't know if anyone needs to see me dropping food on myself and making ridiculous puns.

-Lauren

The most special thing I own is...

My dog. He came from a neglectful and abusive home. It took him some time to acclimate, I'm so very grateful for him. I miss my other pups who passed as old men in '19 and '20. He has helped me heal.

-Lauren

Do you consider yourself religious or spiritual?

Not really. I was raised Christian, dabbled in Judaism for several years as an adult, finally settling on believing there's a higher power, but not having any real connection with organized religions

-Lauren

If I could choose one type of food to eat for the rest of my life, it would be:

A sandwich. They're so flexible. They can be sweet or savory, full of meats, or vegetarian. A whole meal or a snack.
